Energy Retrofits. Medford Homes Transformed.

We assess, scope, and build the upgrade your home needs, backed by 20 years of Southwest Oregon construction and Phius certification.

What a Home Energy Retrofit Actually Delivers

Sanders Homes delivers high-performance energy retrofits that make your home more comfortable, efficient, and healthy. Using Phius building science principles, we upgrade insulation, air sealing, ventilation, and mechanical systems to reduce energy loss and improve year-round comfort.

The result is lower utility bills, better indoor air quality, and more consistent temperatures throughout your home, even during Southwest Oregon's hottest summers and coldest winters. Because lasting efficiency starts with the entire building, not just the equipment.

Phius Certification Sets Our Retrofit Work Apart

What Phius Certification Means for Your Home Upgrade

Phius certification means we bring proven building science to every retrofit. We identify where your home is losing energy, improve the building envelope, and recommend upgrades that work together for maximum performance.

Instead of treating insulation, HVAC, and ventilation as separate projects, we approach your home as a complete system. The result is better comfort, lower energy costs, healthier indoor air, and longer-lasting results.

The Sanders Homes Retrofit Process, Start to Finish

Every retrofit starts with an honest assessment, not a sales pitch. The scope we build is shaped by what your home actually needs, not a pre-packaged list of services.

Step One — Home Assessment and Energy Audit

We start with a full site visit: blower door testing to measure air leakage, thermal imaging to locate insulation gaps and air barrier failures, and an evaluation of your existing HVAC, ductwork, and wall assemblies. We're looking for where the house is losing energy before we touch a single material.

Step Two — Scope and Prioritization

Audit findings become a prioritized scope of work, sequenced so each upgrade compounds the next—air sealing before HVAC downsizing, for example, so the new system is sized to a tighter envelope. Your budget and goals shape the plan at this stage. We also cover our full range of residential construction services when the scope calls for it.

Step Three — Installation and Construction

Our licensed crew executes the approved scope, with Sanders Homes managing every trade involved. All work is performed under Oregon CCB# 229628. We don't hand off your project to subcontractors. We haven't vetted the same team that assessed your home to be accountable for the build.

Step Four — Verification and Handoff

After installation, we retest air leakage to confirm the envelope performs as scoped, verify that mechanical systems are delivering their rated output, and walk you through what changed and how to maintain it. The goal is a home that performs measurably better, not just a completed punch list.
